A toolkit for tabletop roleplaying game development
Rune Wyvern is a desktop application intended for RPG content creation. Create new content within its database. Reuse and transform that content. Keep notes. Publish and share all of that as a readable document, a website, or with other creators. Allow players to read or edit the notes the game master grants access to.
You model the data. Wyvern uses a structured format and validates its integrity. That means no hidden issues, no missing entries or unexpected behavior. Nothing can break by accident. Lock your assets to the versions you require. Allow them to update dependencies from other creations when you want them to.
Design the user interface for any editor you need. A UI for monster design. Equipment. Spells. Feats. Character sheets. Wyvern hands its users the means to build in the easiest way possible.
Your users will be editing within the final layout of your statblocks directly.

Build and level your characters, and make contributions to your campaign notes. Browse all homebrew journals, items, spells, equipment, character options and more that are relevant to your adventure.
Prepare notes, control exactly what your players see, and dive into homebrew. Continue building upon existing content.
Invent and publish more content, in an editor and database built specifically for TTRPG development. Use versioning to control exactly what data you export.
Accelerate the development of your game system with structured modeling, data verification, and custom widgets to design your various assets and rules.

Your monsters, spells, NPCs and notes exist as plain *.wyvern files you own. Import the creations of many other creators without fear of conflicts. Rune Wyvern keeps track of the author and license of everything throughout the database.
Write prose, drag and drop images, monsters and spells into your notes. Fill out statblocks through a friendly UI. A small learning curve.
All data is modeled and verified by the underlying wyvern engine. Thech-savvy people can directly engage with it to shape the tools for their favorite RPGs.
Not a programmer? Fear not, you'll never have to see or touch any lines of code. But the engine is still there to verify your data integrity and access the tools that others have shaped for you!
The idea behind Rune Wyvern is that it is both very practical and easy to use! When you launch the application for the first time, there will be no need for a complicated setup or steep learning curve. The software is made for a specific purpose, and a specific target audience.
Whether your notes need to embed text, include formatting, show statblocks or dice tables, or dynamically include, filter and sort content based on a query, Rune Wyvern has your back. Export your assets as a browsable wiki, printable HTML, or a custom format for your purposes.
Because everything in Wyvern is versioned, you decide when your creations update the content they depend on. This guarantees your content is preserved, even if updates to Wyvern or third-party content are available and installed. You can apply those to the content of your choosing. Don't like the changes after running an update? Wyvern safely preserves your previous work.
Build a new statblock from one that already exists. Or just the interesting parts. Or apply a data transformation to level up that item and turn that goblin into a zombie. Perhaps your data can be used to build statblocks for several RPG systems?
Wyvern encourages designing in an editor that could have come straight from a book. Or to design the editor itself, for any purpose you need.
Write 2d6+3 just like that. No need to script it. This software knows what it means!
Need something from an existing software library? Wyvern's engine will be capable of running plugins in a safe, sandboxed WebAssembly environment.
Rune Wyvern comes with the means to export assets and insert them into other software. Whether that is a web app, a video game, or a VTT.
Dividing a bag of loot among players is just a matter of exchanging notes. Use your LAN to connect a whole group of machines running Wyvern, and start collaborating while you play!
Rune Wyvern is an application that runs on your computer. It is not a cloud service. You own the data stored on your machine, you own the application installed on your machine.

Coming up with the right ideas, the design, the language, the features, the roadmap.

This timeline may change as development continues

Rune Wyvern is built by one person, me! There is no big investor or publisher. Every feature I hope to offer with Rune Wyvern began as a problem I felt the need to solve for myself, while preparing my games with friends.
This means that all your feedback and questions will directly reach the person building the app. At the same time, please be understanding if the roadmap hits a delay, as everything depends on my work and my home situation.
